If you live in a city and spend any time at all driving so much as the length of a block, you probably see more than your fair share of grime creeping into the car’s windows. Maybe you see brown streaks that look like tar, or maybe you see streaks that look like chocolate, or maybe they’re just dirty. Whatever the case, after a while, you just start to expect the windows to look like they’re dirty.

For that matter, how can you clean the car window? Well,  cleaning your car window is not really that difficult. In fact, you don’t need anyone to do it. You can do it on your own. As for when to clean the car window, you need to clean it whenever it gets dirty. It’s as simple as that.

So let’s dig deep and talk about how to clean your car window

Tools Needed for the whole operation

Before we dive into the matter, you need to make sure that you gather all the tools you need.

  • Automotive glass cleaner (Any sort of cleaner is OK but we recommend Invisible Glass 91164)
  • A bucket full of water
  • Cloth (Any sort of cloth is OK but we recommend microfiber)
  • Sponge (Only if needed)

So, these are some of the things you need.  We recommend that you buy a window cleaner that is specially made for vehicles. A regular household window cleaner will clean the window for sure. But there are some problems with it. A lot of people complain that a regular window cleaner will dry out the rubber seals of any car. In the long run, it can be a big issue. That’s why we discourage people to use it.

Cleaning the car window: all the necessary steps to follow

As you know about the tools you need, let’s talk about the steps you need to follow-

Step-1: Organize all the tools

This is the first and basic step. You need to make sure that you have all the stuff you need and you also need to make sure that everything is accessible. This will save you a lot of time

Step-2: Don’t keep your car in the hot sun

Usually, all vehicles absorb heat very quickly. On a very hot sunny day, you may want to keep your car far away from the sun. So, you need to keep it in an area where there is plenty of shade. That way your car will stay cool and most importantly, you will feel comfortable while cleaning the car.

Furthermore, the place where you are going to clean the car window has to be flat. So the garage floor can be a very good option. You can also choose the driveway. Basically, the surface has to be flat and that’s it.

Step-3: Clean the side widows

So, this is where the real action begins. Use the glass cleaner and start cleaning the side window first because it’s easy to access the side window compare to the rear window. Just take your cloth and clean the side windows from top to bottom. Also, clean the inside part of the window Don’t spare an inch. While you are at it, clean the side mirrors too.

A lot of people don’t clean the top of the side window that slides into a place inside a seal. We recommend that you clean that part too. Just roll down the window and wipe the area clean. After that, you are done with the side windows

Step-4: Clean the rear windows

After cleaning the side window, you should concentrate on the rear window. Clean it the way you have cleaned the side windows. Cleaning the outside part of the rear window is not a big deal. But inside part of the rear window can be a bit difficult at times because you need to get inside the car and then clean it.

Step-5: Clean the front window

This is probably the hardest part of the job. Due to its size, shape, and angle, it’s difficult to access all the front window areas and it can be a bit annoying at times. But as annoying as it is, you must clean it properly because it’s the most beautiful area of your car. Make sure to use plenty of cleaners, use a sponge and make sure that it’s completely clean. Scrub the area and make sure that there is no bug splatter.

Step-6: Clean the wiper blades

This is the final step. The wipers blade are actually part and parcel of your front window because they are attached to it and you need these things when there is rain. So, the point is that you need to clean these things too. Now you don’t necessarily have to apply cleaner here. Just wipe it gently and they will be just fine. keep in mind that these wiper blades are delicate. So, if you are not careful with these things, you might break them into pieces. So be very careful.

Things you should keep in mind

Your car windows are clean but still, there are things you should keep in mind.

1. Don’t use hot water. It can damage your cars. Apply cold water and that will do just fine.

2. make sure that the cloth you use to wipe the glass is not dirty. Use a clean cloth to wipe the glass.

3. If you notice hard water spots on the window, make sure to clean it.

4. Don’t rush it. Just take your time. People tend to make a big mistake when they try to clean the windows quickly.

Final Verdict

So that’s how you need to clean your car windows. Cleaning the windows regularly (or whenever they get dirty) is a must. With all said and done, it’s important to keep in mind that the car windows enhance the beauty of a car. We recommend that you clean your own car. it’s just a simple 6-step process. Anyone can do it.
